First Grade Weekly Homework #11
 Nov. 5- 9, 2018

Sight Words:  she, do, how, their, if  (Practice reading words to know them by sight.)

Sounds:  short a, e, i, o,and u, and final blends _mp, _nt, _nd (Practice these sounds.  Spell and read words with new and past letter sounds.)

Reading:  First grade student reads aloud to family every day.(About 15 minutes a day.) Students read the story, Who Can Help Cat?, answer the questions, and return on Friday.  Read and reread the other stories attached to the second part of this homework. (Keep these attached stories at home.) Family reads aloud to student.  Enjoy your reading time together. J

Spelling:  us, sun, but, fun, bus, run  (Spelling Test on Nov. 9).

Math:  Count to 100 by ones, fives, and tens.  Continue to practice the Math Fact flash Cards. Practice the doubles facts (0+0, 1+1, 2+2, 3+3, 4+4, 5+5, 6+6, 7+7, 8+8, 9+9), the doubles plus one facts (2+3, 3+4, 4+5, 5+6, 6+7, 7+8, 8+9), and the doubles minus one facts (3+2, 4+3, 5+4, 6+5, 7+6, 8+7, 9+8).  

Writing:  Think of something that you enjoy doing or something that you are good at. Write 2 or more sentences about it.  Please use pencil for all written homework.  We’d love to see a colorful illustration in crayon.

Skill of the Week: Continue to practice how to tie shoelaces.
