Sight Words: well, large, must, big, even (Practice reading words to know them by sight.)

Sounds:  Complete the attached Phonics pages 119 and 120.  Students do the reading.  Parents provide support as needed to decode words. Please do not read all the words for your child.  Thank you. J (No new sounds.  Practice/review past sounds.)

Reading:  First grade student reads aloud to family every day. (About 15 minutes a day.) Students read the story, Trunks, answer the questions, and return on Friday.  Read and reread the other stories attached to the second part of the homework. (Keep these stories at home.) Family reads aloud to student.  Enjoy your reading time together. J.

Spelling: No new words. No Friday Test.

Math:  Continue to practice math facts, telling time, identifying and adding the value of coins, adding two digit numbers, and measuring items using centimeters and inches.

Writing:  Student writes, in pencil, on a topic of his/her choice—real or pretend.  Fill the page. 

Skill of the Week:  Help pack a healthy snack for school each day. J
