Calling all Room 2 Families:
Spring Carnival: Saturday, April 28, 1-4pm@FDS:
P.T.O. is organizing a fun-filled afternoon for everyone at FDS.  There will be games, activities, food, and prizes!  Our class will run a beanbag game where people try to toss 3 beanbags into one of the three holes of a zany character.  We are looking for volunteers to take a half-hour or hour shift. Please email/call/or talk to me about what shift works for you (ex: 1:00-1:30, 2:00-3:00, set up, clean up, etc…).  I will start plugging in names for times in the order that they come to me.  Thank you for your participation and for helping to make this a fun, successful event!

Placer Nature Center Field Trip:
We go to the Nature Center on Friday, April 20, 2018—rain or shine!  Dress appropriately for weather and walking. If it is rainy, wear a hood or hat—no umbrellas, please. Remember your sack lunch, snack, and drink.  We are going to have a great time!  J

Art: The Dot:
This week, we read the story, The Dot, and then made our own dot art.  The students experimented with warm and cool colors and with mixing primary colors to make secondary colors. We have a roomful of artists!!!

Making Good Choices: Too Good for Violence:
We wrapped up our unit on “Too Good for Violence” this week.  FDS first graders have been recognized as “peaceable people” who know how to be polite and kind, solve problems respectfully, treat everyone fairly, and appreciate similarities and differences in each other!  Way to go, first graders! J
