First Grade Weekly Friday Homework #3: Sept. 11-15, 2017

Sight Words:  he, was, for, on, are (Practice reading words to know them by sight.) 

Sounds:  short o, l, x  (Practice these sounds.  Spell and read words with new and past letter sounds.)

Reading:  First grade student reads aloud to family every day. (About 15 minutes a day.) Read the story, Bad Cat, answer the questions, and return on Friday.  Read and reread the other stories attached to the homework. (Keep these attached stories at home.) Family reads aloud to student.  Enjoy your reading time together. J

Spelling:  log, dot, top, hot, ox, lot  (Spelling Test on Sept. 15)

Math:  Count aloud to 100 by 1s, 5s, and 10s.  Do Math homework page (both sides) Monday through Thursday and return to class to the next day. The first 90 Second Math Fact Test will be Monday, September 18…practice math facts.

Writing:  On the Friday Homework page, the student writes the capital letters two times each using correct letter formation.  Please use pencil for all homework.

Skill of the Week:  Learn how to carefully pack your backpack so papers do not get crumpled.
